Workshop Recap: Understanding Water Markets & Preparing for Drought
Fruit Growers Victoria, with the support of Agriculture Victoria’s Drought Support Package, hosted a successful workshop on Thursday, 11 September 2025 at Bill & Beats, Mooroopna. The event brought together fruit growers, industry professionals, and government representatives to explore water markets and strategies for drought preparedness.

- Michael Jensz (DEECA) provided insights into Victorian Government’s approach Murray Darling Basin Plan.
- Dale Grey (Agriculture Victoria) discussed climate drivers and their influence on water markets, sparking thoughtful discussion on future seasonal trends.
- Nick O’Halloran (Agriculture Victoria) introduced the Water Budgeting Tool, offering a practical approach to water planning and management.
