Australian pears have been in the limelight over the last month at Prahran, Queen Victoria and Dandenong Markets. Two traders at each market have been fighting it out for a place in the My Market Rules with Australian Pears Trader Cook Off ...Final.
Rhonda Tannous of Why Not Wooden Bakery took out the Dandenong Market Trader Cook Off Heat with her Lebanese Spiced Poached Pears with Seven Spiced Yoghurt.
Judges - Russell Bald and Rami Mahfouz were impressed with the way Rhonda showcased Australian Pears using the flavours of her heritage as well as the flavour and presentation of her dish.
However, when Russell toted up the scores, he found only one point separated Rhonda and Lez. Given that Lez came up with an appetising Grilled Chicken and Pear Salad, this comes as no surprise!
