Queensland Fruit Fly Goulburn Murray Valley Outlook January 2020

December 2019 update
There are now 395 Queensland Fruit Fly (QFF) traps in the Goulburn Murray Valley (GMV)
that are being checked weekly.
In the month from mid-November to mid-December 2019 a total of 491 male QFF adults were trapped. This is an increase from the previous month (213 from mid-October to mid-November). This increase represents the start of the new season’s QFF population which will, if not controlled, increase population numbers, with accompanying significant damage to fruit in the February to April 2020 period.
