Queensland Fruit Fly (QFF) trapping
Over 300 male-targeting QFF traps have been deployed in the Goulburn Murray Valley (GMV) region since 25 May 2017. They are examined by trained officers every fortnight at present but will be assessed weekly during the warmer weather from late spring to early autumn. These traps give a useful indication of QFF population build up. They will also be used to compare 2017 trap rates with this year’s in order to assess the impact of community fruit fly control programs.
This report was produced by Andrew Jessup and incorporates an analysis of regional trapping data supplied by the GMV Fruit Fly Project.
