Fair Work: Changes to annual wage arrangement rules in the Hort Award

On 12 February 2020, the Fair Work Commission made determinations that added new rules about annualised wage arrangements (also known as annual wage arrangements) in the Horticulture Award.

The new rules start from the first full pay period on or after 1 March 2020.  So for example, if an employee’s fortnightly pay starts on Thursday, 27 February 2020, those new rules won’t start until Thursday, 12 March 2020.

This Fair Work Commission consolidated modern award incorporates all amendments up to and including 12 February 2020 (PR716596).

Clause(s) affected by the most recent variation(s):
15Annualised wage arrangements
Schedule E—Part-day Public Holidays

Fair Work Commission issues changes to impact horticultural industry- APAL

Employers will be required to give employees an annual wage arrangement in writing, as part of updates to a number of awards by the Fair Work Commission recently.

The updates were made as part of the four-yearly review of modern awards, and affect the Horticulture Award 2010.

A number of other awards were also updated, all which feature employees working largely variable hours.
