On 12 September, $5 million of additional support was announced focussing on drought affected farmers in Central and East Gippsland. The funding also provided support for preparedness in the Northern and North West regions.
On 24 October 2018, the Victorian Government announced an additional $24.69 million package to provide further drought support to those in Central and East Gippsland and preparedness support to those in Northern and North West Victoria who are experiencing dry conditions.
