Fruit Growers Victoria Ltd Chairman Gary Godwill today announced the appointment of Tony Harris as Executive Officer.
Mr Godwill said that this appointment will help the FGVL implement its new strategy for improved member services.
“Tony comes with a great deal of experience managing member based organisations, and we’re very pleased to have him leading FGVL.”
“He recently ran Member Services for the Australian Stock Horse Society, based in Scone, NSW. The Society has more than 9,500 Members. Prior to that Tony worked in the meat processing industry as Member Services Officer at NCMC in Casino, and Business Process Manager at Midfield Meat in Warrnambool. He has also had experience working on his family dairy farm, as well as roles in banking and finance.”
Mr Harris thanked the FGVL Board for the opportunity.
“I look forward to a long and productive time working with FGVL members, growers, directors and staff for the benefit of all in the industry.
“My proudest achievement at the Australian Stock Horse Society was offering members reasons to belong and reversing declining membership numbers. This requires hard work and listening to others – both of which I’m keen to do in this industry.”
“We have a good strategic plan for FGVL, and my immediate focus will be on implementing this for members.”
Tony has commenced work in Mooroopna at the FGVL Offices and attended the AGM on 14 November and the Future Orchards walk on Friday 17 November. Tony enjoyed meeting the FGVL members and growers at both events and looks forward to future continued contact with the members.
