FGVL appointment strengthen grower services role
Recent Fruit Growers Victoria Ltd (FGVL) appointments have strengthened the representative group’s services for local fruit growers.
FGVL Chairman Gary Godwill today announced the return of Michael Crisera to head up a newly formed FGVL Grower Services unit.
“Our core business is helping Victorian fruit growers be more profitable. Michael’s expertise will help us provide the independent technical advice growers need to improve their yield and quality.”
“Michael has many years’ experience assisting growers, and he will be available to visit members’ orchards to provide hands-on advice.”
Mr Godwill also flagged improvements for growers seeking online assistance.
“Michael has already commenced redeveloping and improving FGVL’s Growfruit App. The App is a web based tool that uses the Phenological degree day (DD) modelling for the management of the key moths (Codling Moth; Oriental Fruit Moth and Light Brown Apple Moth) in Pome and Stonefruit production.”
“We’ll also be providing hands-on assistance for growers to make best use of the app.”
For further information on the Growfruit App, interested growers can book a demonstration on their orchard with Michael on 58 253700.
