International fruit fly expert joins Hort Innovation roadshow
You are invited to attend the Hort Innovation fruit fly roadshow in Victoria. The aim of the roadshow is to assist growers in managing fruit flies in their crop, and learn from the experience of world class Area Wide Management (AWM) practitioners.
Special guest, Dr Roger Vargus, from the United States Department of Agriculture in Hawaii, will present about relevant overseas research in fruit fly and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Dr Vargus has 33 years’ experience in insect ecology, biological control, and IPM.The roadshow will provide an opportunity for growers to gain insights on successful control programs from international and domestic experiences. The roadshow is about building confidence in growers managing fruit flies without organophoshates.
There will be ample opportunity for growers to interact with the group and guest presenters, and discuss and ask questions about key fruit fly issues.We will be visiting three locations in Victoria.
