APPLE & PEAR INDUSTRY SUMMIT
APAL members and apple and pear levy-payers are invited to attend the Apple and Pear Industry Summit 2014 in Shepparton, Victoria, 23-25 July 2014. The summit will encompass APAL’s AGM, the Annual Levy Payers Meeting, industry dinner, key stakeholders’ roundtable, IAC meeting and a ‘Energy Saving’ farm walk.“
I encourage all our growers to make the effort to come along to our industry summit,” says John Lawrenson, APAL Chair. “It is another opportunity for APAL members to meet and interact with the APAL Board and staff and get involved to support our industry. There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and questions.”
Both John Lawrenson and APAL CEO John Dollisson will give presentations at the APAL AGM. The AGM will include reports on the year’s activities and all the usual statutory functions such as financial statements and director appointments.
At the apple and pear Annual Levy Payers Meeting, Horticulture Australia Limited (HAL) will report on the marketing and research and development levy investments for 2013/14. HAL representatives will also outline the industry Strategic Investment Plan and future proposed investments. The following activities are planned as part of the summit (schedule TBC):
