Date: Wednesday, 10 Aprtil 2024 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM AEST
Location: Lenne's Orchard, 103 Ardmona Road Ardmona, VIC 3629
As part of AgriFutures Australia's Producer Technology Uptake Program, APAL is leading a project investigating the costs and benefits of variable rate spreading in the orchard building on previous work in the Goulburn Valley. Potential to improve crop quality and yield supports case for variable rate spreader.
Through this new grant, a Red Ant dual product variable rate spreader has been be trialed in two Goublurn Valley orchards during the 2023/24 season to demonstrate the technology which allows for two separate products to be spread variably in a single pass to address variability within blocks through targeted fertiliser placement.
With fertiliser spreading now complete, join us to discuss progress, challenges, costs and benefits of the technology as well as discussing orchard variability and how technologies like this can assist.
This field walk will be hosted at Lenne's Orchards
- 12:00pm - Lunch and open discussion (please ensure to RSVP for catering purposes)
- 12:30pm - Discussion of results so far and demonstration of Red Ant Auger Spreader
- 1:00pm - Event concludes
