Fruit Growers Victoria Ltd. [FGVL]is a primary producer organization that represents and furthers the interests of more than 300 fruit growing, packing and exporting businesses across Victoria. Fruit Growers Victoria was formed on the 1st July 2005 following the merger of the Northern Victoria Fruitgrowers’ Association [NVFA] and the Orchardists and Fruit Cool Stores Association [OFCSA]. These organisations have a proven history for more than 70 years. Fruit Growers Victoria represents deciduous fruit growers in the north east, central and southern regions of Victoria and encompasses 30% of Australia's apples, 30% of Australia's stone fruit industries and 70% of Australia's pears. Our industry has a gross value of production in excess of $1 billion and is a cornerstone for business and employment in regional Victoria. |
Board of Directors |
FGV Ltd. operates under a Board of Directors representing the major growing districts in Victoria. Elections to the Board take place each year. Directors accept responsibility for the following subject portfolios - Apples, Pears, Canning, Water and Environment, Stone Fruit, Industrial Relations, Public Relations, Research and Extension, Export and Domestic Markets, Education and Training, Membership & Public Relations. |

Purpose Statement |
Fruit Growers Victoria Ltd. is to help provide our fruit industry members with the best business environment they can achieve. We therefore carry out a large amount of agri-political work on their behalf, help with industrial relations matters, source harvest labour, and provide opportunities to develop technical and business skills. FGV role includes promoting and protecting the domestic and international trade of commercial orchardists safeguarding the interests of orchardists by promoting or opposing by lawful means, legislation, proposed legislation or any other measure affecting or likely to affect orchardists and the fruit industry in production and trade generally. Seeks appropriate and adequate assistance for research and development into the fruit industry, collects, classifies and publishes statistical educational and other information and maintains a general library for the use of members. |
